Westmoreland Wheelhouse Takes the Field at Nonprofit Night with Carolina Ascent FC
This April, Westmoreland Wheelhouse had the incredible opportunity to join Carolina Ascent FC for their special Nonprofit Night, and it was truly a night to remember.
From the moment the gates opened, the energy in the stadium was electric. Our team connected with hundreds of local soccer fans, shared the mission behind Westmoreland Wheelhouse, and met so many people who were excited to learn more about our vision to bring accessible, community based housing to adults living with Spinal Cord Injuries here in the region.
One highlight of the evening? Our founder, Kasey Westmoreland, proudly sporting a custom Westmoreland Wheelhouse No. 26 jersey a moment we’re still talking about! It sparked conversations, smiles, and plenty of curiosity about the work we’re building on.
Throughout the night, visitors stopped by our booth to ask questions, share encouragement, and show their support. Those conversations matter. Every handshake, every “I love what you’re doing,” and every new connection helps move our mission forward.
Events like Nonprofit Night remind us how powerful community support can be. Westmoreland Wheelhouse exists to create a first of its kind apartment style family care home designed to support independence, connection, and consistent caregiving and moments like this show just how many people believe in that vision.
We’re incredibly grateful to Carolina Ascent FC for spotlighting our work and giving us a platform to connect with supporters across the community. It was a meaningful evening for our team and an exciting step forward as we continue building momentum this spring.
Next Stop: The Lead Slinging Classic
If the excitement from Nonprofit Night is any indication, our upcoming Lead Slinging Classic on May 16 is shaping up to be another unforgettable community event. We can’t wait to see supporters, partners, and friends come together again to help advance the Westmoreland Wheelhouse mission.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, stopped by, and cheered us on. Your support makes this work possible and we’re just getting started.
